Handcrafted 1/64th Scale Car Trailers

I began sketching and drawing plans and jotting down ideas of making my own car trailers to fit on the back of just about any 1/64th scale car or pickup I had with a trailer hitch back around 1998 - 1999. I finally put together a pile of materials of plastic and metal pieces to use as well as several types of glue to find out what kind held up the best. I began carving and shaping each piece to fit with the next piece. It took quite awhile through the trial and eror stages, but finally got one that looked decent and worked well. Cutting and sanding every piece of styrene plastic and glueing every piece together took a great deal of time. Then painting everything and glueing other pieces on that couldn't be glued into place until after painting took even much more time with a different kind of glue. I also figured several ways to attach different kinds of wheels so they would all roll freely and stay balanced. For many hours I had invested, it was well worth all the effort.

Muscle Car Garage and Trailer Factory

My Muscle Car Garage quickly turned into a Cat Trailer Factory as well. This little shop was used in several ads I placed.

Tires and Wheels

Almost any 1/64th tires and wheels can be made to fit and roll on these trailers. Different ways of attatching them can be fabricated.

Tool Box

A cool looking toolbox can easily be fabricated from a block of wood or styrene plastic. Painted, decorated and detailed they look great attached to the front of the frame.

Trailer Floor Runners

A couple of strips of the sheet styrene plastic are cut, painted and used here for a basic style trailer.

Backslider Bed on Red Frame.

This bed used here is from the Hot Wheels Backslider truck

Backslider Bed on Black Frame

Color selection of the trailer frames makes little difference in the look of the trailers. They all liik good.

Tire Rack on Basic Frame

These tire racks add plenty of detail to the trailers.

Haulin' the Mean Maverick
Hitch & Tow & Go

Trailer hitches can be easily made from a small piece of plastic and the head of a cut small fnish nail. They can be made to fit any tow vehicle, be it a car or pickup.

Decals add Detail

Haulin' A Project in progress

All~in~all, these trailers look awesome displayed with any 1/64th vehicle, be it a Show Rod, Street Car, Strip Car, NASCAR or NHRA Cars, Junk Car or anything else to scale.

Trailered to the race

A cool impressive and intemidating way to get your street race car to those late night, early morning, secret street races.
