Photographing these little cars is a big and enjoyable part of this hobby

Depending on your camera and how you want your photographs to look, many props, photo booths, and photo accessories can be built from wood, foam board, or other inexpensive materials. A piece of metallic or white posterboard is cut to size and rolled from the bottom front to the top to eliminate any seams showing in the photo

Lighted Foam Board Photo Booth

This booth is constructed of 1/4 inch foam board. A switched flourescent light fixture has been installed in this booth to regulate lighting

Unlighted Photo

This photo was taken without the use of the flourecent light. Only the light from the overhead incondescent 60 watt bulb in the room. The photo still comes out good, but gives a darker apperance and can create unwanted shadows

Photo Booth Light On

The flourscent ligh provides a great amount of light. Flash should not be used in photographing due to too much brightness and bright out spots

Lighted Photo

This photo was taken in a darker room with the flourscent light on. Too much light will dull the brightness of the colors of the car being photographed

Photo Prop

This small prop is made from 1/4 inch plywood. painted gray on one side to simulate pavement, and scale gravel glued to the other side to simulate gravel or dirt surface. Postcards or magazine photos, or even your own photos can be used as backdrops

Farmer Don

Small props such as the wood fence, and Farmer Don himself also can be used to enhance your photos. If you look close to the left side of the pic, you can see the wood fence is a little too close to the backdrop creating a shadow on the backdrop. Position of your props is important

Mustang Parking Only

A scale chainlink fence was made from window screen and used to enhance this photo. Fences and shrubs hide the joint between the backdrop and the surface of the prop if needed. The small Mustang Parking Only sign and a figure was also used

I hope this page will be helpful, but you will have to experiment with your camera, lighting and angles of of the photo to achieve and create the best results. You will be surprized how much you can do with these little items and the fun you can experience. Enjoy!!!
