Over my collecting years I have looked and collected many pieces of odd items that could be used to create detail in my 1/64th scale garage dioramas.

These pics are to show some of my work and to help explain what materials were used to create these dioramas, so you may share in the fun of building, photographing, and just playing and having a good time.

In building my garages I try to pay as much strict attention to as much tedious detail as possible

The brake rotors are Johnny Lightning hubs with small pieces of styrene plastic cut and filed to shape. Painted and detailed

Pictures and posters for wall hangings can easily be cut from magazines of all sorts and reduced in size on color copy machines. They can be cut and pasted to the walls.

There are many pieces that can be cut from diecast cars of every brand. You have to use a little imagination and a little paint.

Toolboxes and cabinets can be found in various dioramas released over the years. I cast these from resin. They cam also be easily made from styrene plastic. These small engine parts were carved from styrene plastic.

Boxes are made from blocks of anything to size and wrapped in brown packing paper. Labels are cut from magazines and resized, then pasted on.

Work benches can easily be made from styrene plastic. There is another page on this site showing how easy. Easy Build Diorama Pieces Part 1.
